The American Chestnut Land Trust, also known as ACLT, was founded in 1986 in Calvert County, Maryland. We are concerned with the preservation of farmland, woodlands, and wetlands in a county undergoing rapid development.

Vera's White Sands Restaurant and Marina is located on the historical St. Leonard's Creek, approximately 2.5 miles upstream at the entrance to John's Creek, off the Patuxent River. The Creek is wide and channel depth is 14 feet. It provides excellent protection from a Northerly storm.
